At the end of the day you can pass all the stimulus packages you want but somebody has to pay for them, and that somebody is always disporportunately the Middle Class, if you kill the middle class with taxes who is left to pay for anything? Remember "only the little people pay taxes", David Rockefeller brags about not paying taxes, Obama's Cabinet won't be paying either based on their past tax history. First we need to replace the manufacturing base we American taxpayers paid to send overseas to China to have an economy to stimulate.

Ok, stay with me here... I know many of you are stunned with the turn our country is taking down the path to socialism. There is massive spending of money we don't have on programs we don't need. There are unprecedented amounts of government control about to be heaped on the American citizen. From banks to automobile manufacturers to health care, the federal government is injecting itself into the lives of Americans like never before.

But, it doesn't stop there. Despite the trillions of dollars in the upcoming budget and the near trillion dollars in stimulus and mortgage bailouts, there is a group complaining about the lack of funds to pay for road projects. Their recommendation? To tax drivers by the mile by installing tracking devices in their vehicles which monitor their activity.

As noted in the story Associated Press story Panel: Raise Gas Tax, Charge Drivers by the Mile, the talk of the government tracking drivers is real. When the idea was first floated by Transportation Secretary Rey LaHood, the Obama administration quickly stepped in and publicly hung him out to dry. "It is not and will not be the policy of the Obama administration," the president's press secretary said.

However, a "special commission" created by Congress is still pursuing the idea. And, of course, they are painting a dire situation in order to justify another government intrusion into our private lives.

Its report Thursday warns that if government fails to find a new way to raise money, "we will suffer grim consequences in the future: unimaginable levels of congestion, reduced safety, costlier goods and services, an eroded quality of life, and diminished economic competitiveness as a nation."

"We should look at the vehicular miles program where people are actually clocked on the number of miles that they traveled," LaHood said last week.

The commission recommends "moving to such a tax, which would mean equipping cars and trucks with a device that uses GPS technology to track the number of miles driven and compute the tax owed."

Is this what we are coming to? GPS equipped cars so the government can monitor our travels? Doesn't the current system of a tax on a gallon of gasoline do the same thing? The more one drives, the more one will pay in tax, because more gasoline is needed. Strapping cars with GPS trackers so the government can keep tabs on how far we drive seems like something straight out of the former Soviet Union. "You've driven your allotted 70.35 miles today... let me see your papers."

We have to restore some sanity in the way things are going in Washington. I hate to think of what might be next. Monitoring our food purchases to see if we are eating "proper" meals. After all, if government will be soon be in the business of providing health care for all, then surely they can tell Americans what to eat or not eat.

Now we are clearly seeing the effects of two straight congressional election losses at the hands of the Democrats. Even with an Obama presidency, we could have had some kind of check to the check-and-balance system. But look at what we've done... and where America is heading.

You know it's going to be a class thing also, those among the elite who even now more often live to be ninties plus will get first choice while blue collar will be shown the suicide machine at a much earlier age, can you really trust a government run by the elite to dole out healthcare fairly? If they weren't always stealing money out of Social Security and health care for their pet projects I believe the money would be there for any and all who wanted to live longer, on the other hand if you want out that option should be there too, but should not made by Wall Street/Banker shysters who created the crisis in the first place and who now make up Obama's cabinet.

i am inspired to start this topic because of something i stumbled across in an answer to parakeet on another thread.. he has some deruta majolica.

this is the heraldy crest for the deruta family.

it has a very exotic looking watchtower as its central theme.. i believe i have seen in a photograph somewhere, a similar one that actually exists.. i wonder what sinister meanings lurk behind the concept of watchtowers.. there has to be something very evil here since one of the most vile religions i know of has named its foundation after this structure.. let's see what we come up with.. .

I am out of my element here, I read about Political Scandals, I couldn't find an answer to the tree question, the tree of life, the knowledge of good and bad ahhh no I guess I don't know, but your other question sent me to Wikepedia and ofta, look at this-did a little occult symbolism sneak into the old Bethel Board Room, well I know the Watchtower is a Biblical symbol but hey, there talking Golden Dawn, Hummm-Millenial Dawn, oh well a begginers stab at it. Ye lords of the Watchtower...witness our rites... I could see one of the GB on a broomstick.

Well folks Alex Jones didn't write the above article but he has admitted there was a hoax, he had one of his technicians open the box and look and behold no connection. It doesn't mitigate all of the other governmen listening to the public instances admitted too, like the one that measure how many times the public had rewound the Janet Jackson segment at the Super Bowl or the admission to having listening devices that measure the voices at home and whether their is a dog in the background which they say is only too market, but when added to a background of Government admission, you have to be skeptical, Alex Jones is always exposing the main stream media, his young reporter got fooled by the alternative media but he straightened it out the next day. The person who did this hoax is doing a great diservice to the public, we need to get at the truth which is often kept from us, not cheap tricks.

Health officials have called off plans for a study examining a controversial type of treatment that some autism activists have touted as alternative medical therapy for children with the condition.

The National Institute of Mental Health, or NIMH, part of the U.S. National Institutes of Health, said in a statement on Wednesday that it has canceled a study aimed at assessing the effectiveness of a treatment called chelation.

Chelation (pronounced key-LAY-shun) is a type of therapy in which a man-made amino acid, called EDTA, is added to the blood, and it has been used to treat heavy metal poisoning.

autism activists have advocated it on the theory — rejected by most scientists — that autism is triggered by exposure to mercury, a heavy metal, from childhood vaccines.

Many studies and medical experts have dismissed the notion that mercury used in a vaccine preservative causes autism, but some parents of autistic children strongly believe it does.

A popular video circulating on You Tube shows the discovery of a spy camera and a microphone hidden inside a digital TV converter box. Such devices are part of a government and industry surveillance program that is undoubtedly connected to the forced digital TV switchover being rolled out in the UK and US.

“I could not believe my eyes,” states the blurb accompanying the video clip, “I have a friend who is kind of a conspiracy theorist. He was trying to convince me that many of the digital TV convert boxes that are coming out have microphones and cameras built into them. Knowing a bit about electronics I bought one of these devices opened it up fully intending on proving him wrong. To my surprise he was right. This device has both a miniature camera lens and what looks like a microphone. I was so shocked I took pictures and video. Please send this out to everyone you know who is using one of these devices.”

The camera and microphone were hidden inside a MAGNAVOX TB110MW9 Digital to Analog Converter box.

The need to mandate a mass roll out of such hidden surveillance devices is undoubtedly one of the reasons that governments in both the UK and the US, as well as eventually the entire planet, are overseeing a forced switchover to digital TV and killing traditional analogue broadcasts. The vast majority of TV’s require a digital decoder box to receive digital TV transmissions.

By installing covert spy devices and hidden microphones inside our all but mandatory digital boxes, the government and whatever corporate entities get a slice of the pie, have direct access to our living rooms. This is the ultimate Big Brother scenario whereby the majority of Americans and Europeans will have Orwellian telescreens watching their every move.

Many will dismiss such claims as conspiracy fodder, but the fact is that Americans have been spied on for decades, previously under the Echelon program and more recently as part of the Bush administration’s warrantless wiretapping program.

As former National Security Agency analyst Russell Tice recently revealed, “The National Security Agency had access to all Americans’ communications — faxes, phone calls, and their computer communications,” Tice claimed. “It didn’t matter whether you were in Kansas, in the middle of the country, and you never made foreign communications at all. They monitored all communications.”

As we highlighted three years ago, private industry and eventually government is planning to use microphones in the computers of an estimated 150 million-plus Internet active Americans, as well as similar devices installed inside digital TV boxes, to spy on their lifestyle choices and build psychological profiles which will be used for surveillance and minority report style invasive advertising and data mining.

Digital cable TV boxes, such as Scientific Atlanta, have had secret in-built microphones inside them since their inception in the late 1990’s and these originally dormant devices were planned to be activated when the invasive advertising revolution was being rolled out, a watershed that is quickly becoming a reality.

The advent of digital video recording devices such as TiVo (Sky Plus in the UK) introduced the creation of psychological algorithm profiles - databases on what programs you watched, how long you watched them for, and which adverts you liked or didn’t like. This information was retained by TiVo and sold to the highest bidders - an example being Janet Jackson’s wardrobe malfunction during the 2003 Super Bowl half-time show; TiVo were able to compile lists of how many people had rewound the clip and how many times they had replayed it.

In 2006, Google announced that they would use in-built computer microphones to listen in on user’s background noise, be it television, music or radio - and then direct advertising at them based on their preferences.

In March last year, Comcast announced that they were “experimenting with different camera technologies built into devices so it can know who’s in your living room.”

The cameras would use body-form recognition to confirm who was in the room and then tailor program recommendations, as well as commercials, to target that member of the family.
